Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Julia's a little on the 'average' side. She's 5'6”, and a solid size medium. Her problem stems from her distinct dislike of exercising. She's got computer ass syndrome.

2. How old is she?
April 24th, 1989 is her birthday. She's 21.

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
For someone who creates chaos almost everywhere she goes, she's remarkably straight-shouldered. Her Aunt Mildred is a stickler about posture. (“You're a fuck up fairy, dear, not a troll. Straighten those shoulders!")

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
As I've mentioned above, she's in OK shape. Maybe carrying a couple of 'extra pounds' but nothing that's going to hurt really. She's really, really healthy, too, for someone who likes to eat junk food.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
If you caused things to go Horrifically Wrong (or hilariously wrong, as the case tends to be with her), wouldn't you be tense? She's pretty tense, but very careful of where she puts her body. Unfortunately, though, sometimes the fairy genes she's got makes sure she's clumsy at least some of the time.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
Julie thinks she's pretty cute! She's no Angelina Jolie or Natalie Portman or Scarlett Johannsen, but really, who is? (Except the actresses themselves.)

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Her complexion is light and very clear. Never had a pimple in her life, the bitch.

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
Her hair is a dark red that can be mistaken in icons for brown sometimes. It's about shoulder length, if not a little longer. When she goes out, it's down, but if she's at home or working, she keeps it up and out of her face.

9. What color are her eyes?
Very light blue.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Not that she's willing to show a perfect stranger!

11. What are her chief tension centers?
Her shoulders, her hands (she's convinced she's getting carpal tunnel, oh shit son), her ass (damn it, she needs a better computer chair) … alright, her entire body.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
Lots of pink. It's her favorite color, and thankfully it doesn't seem to clash with her hair. Lots of T-shirts and jeans, plus a few dressy outfits for when she's got a date.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
They're jeans and a t-shirt! They better be comfy!

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
When she's got someone requesting food, she pulls out the chef outfit. Checkered pants, white coat.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Julie: ::blinks:: Uhm. That's rather personal don't you think? But they're panties. And they're pink.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Her voice doesn't exactly stand out. Just a run of the mill young adult voice. 'Medium' fits her very well.

2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? She talks very easily, as she's got an opinion about everything. She can get flustered easily, though, and her brain might think faster than she can talk at times.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
She's from South Carolina, so there's a definite southern drawl.

4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
Just English. And upon occasion, if she's talking to her internet peeps, typoese and leetspeak.

5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Nope.

6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
When there's something Important to say, she's careful and she thinks things through.

7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
A little bit of both.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?
She's smart. She's not a genius by any means, but she's not going to be a candidate for Miss South Carolina anytime soon.

2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
Being who she is, she needs to be able to think on her feet.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
She.. well, she can be both. Her logical and practical side tend to win out the war between the two sides.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
She's currently enrolled at the Sumter campus of USC. She was one of the first people to sign up for their new culinary major. (which, as far as I know, does not exist in actuality. Yay fiction!)

5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
She's grown up in the 'family business', though she really doesn't want to make that her career. She's always had a love for weddings and wedding cakes and for as long as she can remember she's been baking. She's an excellent baker (it seems to be the one thing that she can't get wrong.)

6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?
She's an introvert with extrovert tendencies. She likes people, but she doesn't like making things go ~boom~ around them. This is why she likes the internet. She can get to know people without having to worry about ruining thousand dollar shirts or accidentally walking in wet cement.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Julie is pretty laid back. She doesn't even troll the pro-ana sites on livejournal like she really, really wants. She's got a snarky sense of humor, even if she's generally cheerful.

8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
It totally depends on the vibe of the person. With most, though, she's relaxed.

9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
React. Sadly enough.

10. Which is her default: fight or flight?
Flight.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Yes, to all of the above.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?
None. Clean bill of mental health.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
Julie doesn't like to admit that she is, in fact, a fuck up fairy. She's proud of her family's other accomplishments, not the fact that they were single handedly responsible for America's Funniest Videos. (Though she used to watch religiously.)

14. What does she fear?

Failure. And, of late, losing Alistair.

15. What are her hopes or aspirations?
She wants to be more than a bag of epic fail – even if she realizes that failing is one of the ways that people learn and grow. All she really wants is that white picket fence, a couple of kids, a dog and a cat, and a thriving wedding cake business. Is that too much to ask for?

16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
She had her heart broken at sixteen and hasn't really trusted anyone since. It's stupid to still be hung up on something that happened such a long time ago!

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.
Julie's parents, Declan and Marian Stuart, died two years ago in a car accident. (Nothing to do with Marian's fae abilities). They had a pretty good relationship, though riddled with the usual teenaged angst made 100x worse by Julie's constant fuckery. Julie was devastated.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
She's an only child, and likes it that way.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
Her Aunt Mildred is both the thorn in her side and her best friend. She takes care of the older woman, though Mildred is of the opinion that she does not need helping.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
Sunny Ambrose is her best friend, and sort of like sister. It's complicated.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Sunshine Ambrose. They met at school and bonded over their love of Subeta.net.

6. Does she have other close friends?
Julia is pretty close with the Aether sisters. They're familiar with the faery-type, though they're not fuck up fairies themselves.

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?
She's very friendly. It just takes her a while to get close.

8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
Family are her friends, and vice versa.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
She's single currently exclusively seeing [livejournal.com profile] lambwolfandman, Alistair. She's ridiculously in love.

10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
No.

11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
Matt Damon, and Matt Damon. *___*
Alistair.

12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?
She doesn't have a set 'type'. Different things attract her. She's monogamous, though, and expects her partners to be monogamous too.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
None, though she wants a couple.

14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
She considers her ex to be an enemy, but she doesn't obsess about it.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
She likes men. She can acknowledge that women are attractive, but she's never been all that attracted to them. I'd say maybe a 2.

16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
She likes it. She hasn't had sex in a long time, though, so she's both really, really horny and really, really shy about getting naked with someone. (This inability to stay dressed around Alistair notwithstanding.)

17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
She likes men who are intelligent, sexy, confident. She does not like assholes or 'bad boys'. She likes men who are masculine, but confident in themselves that they don't mind watching sappy movies with her.

… Knowing computers would be a huge, huge, huge plus.
(Also. Like to be fed. It's a requirement for sexy good times.)

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
According to this source, Julie fits her Taurus sign very well. Comparatively, she's a rabbit in the Chinese zodiac. Some of this fits, but Julia would rather keep to herself than be around a million people partying.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
Julia .. is aware of Something More, but she's sort of got an impersonal relationship with the divine. It's something she keeps meaning to work on, because she doesn't like that void feeling, but she keeps .. getting distracted. She just doesn't realize she's doing it. She needs (and somewhere deep down inside she wants) a religious experience.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
She's a nice girl. She doesn't want to hurt anyone, and this is why she's nearly a recluse (because fuckupery can technically hurt someone) but she DOES have a bit of an imp in her. She tries to treat other how she wants to be treated. (But sometimes hi, people rub you the wrong way and she's only human a fuck up fairy.)

4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
She's very tolerant, even if she thinks it's stupid. She'll just nod and carry on.

5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
The only one I could possibly think of is she has a Thing about people who are 'pro' anything bad for you – pro-ana, pro-fat, pro-illicit drugs, pro-not-looking-where-they're-going.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
She's living on what was left of her inheritance. She's currently debt free, but that could change once she's out of college and having to find a Real Job. (Just two more sessions!)

2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
Her social status hasn't changed. She doesn't have a lot of friends, and those she has tends to be her aunt's acquaintances or her parent's old friends. Her parents weren't rich, but they were comfortable. She never had to worry about bills or food or shelter, and she still doesn't.

3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
She lives with her Aunt Mildred in the middle of no where, in an old mansion that's trying to fall down around their ears. I'm pretty sure it will soon – but neither of them can bring themselves to move out.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
Culinary gadgets. Music. Romance novels.

5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
Before her parents died, she worked at McDonalds. She wouldn't mind working again, but she's worried about her grades. (They suffered when her parents died.)

6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
She's a geek. She spends all her free time either baking or going to book stores or on the Internet. She loves her Amazon.com wishlist.

7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
She's fond of food. Her metabolism is pretty fast so she feels she can eat anything she wants. She tends to grab something for breakfast – that's when she eats out usually. Her food CANNOT touch. It's one of her little idiosyncrasies.

Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is her favorite:

1. Color? Pink, pink, and more pink. Any shade, though she likes the pastel colors better.
2. Smell? Anything that's baking.
3. Time of day? Early in the morning when no one else is around.
4. Season? Spring.
5. Book? The Amish Cook's Baking Book (she's not Amish.)
6. Music? She's currently got Lady Antebellum's Need You Now on repeat on her iPod.
7. Place? Wrapped up on the couch, or http://www.nycake.com/ (the actual store, not the website. Though the website is nice too.)
8. Substance? ...Most likely sugar. Sugar is awesome.
9. Plant? Aloe.
10. Animal? She likes her puppy, Piglet, best :)
